🇮🇷Getting the D/AM Visa at the Romanian Embassy in Tehran
Just like the general Type D visa, the D/AM work visa must also be obtained in person at the Romanian Embassy in Tehran, since Iran has no VFS Global visa service center. The process starts through the online eViza system: you first upload your file and documents there, and only once the file status changes to "Valid" can you book an in-person embassy appointment — you cannot book a slot at the same time as your initial submission. The Type D visa fee rose to €300 as of April 27, 2026 (previously €120; the Tehran embassy collects it in US dollars).
